Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Thailand are very pleased to organize 1-week training for Thai designers, partners, customers, universities, and font lovers on creating OpenType fonts using Microsoft’s VOLT (Visual OpenType Layout Tool).  VOLT is a free, publicly available standard.  Because of its wide availability and typographic flexibility— including provisions for handling the diverse behaviors of all the world\’s writing systems—OpenType fonts are used commonly today on all major computer platforms. OpenType is a format for scalable computer fonts. It was built on its predecessor TrueType, retaining TrueType\’s basic structure and adding many intricate data structures for prescribing typographic behavior.

Never before have we been able to invite one of the best font specialists in the world to come to Thailand and share with us the “how to’s,” tips and tricks of OpenType so that you can create perfect Thai fonts that look great even when you enlarge it. The training will be held on 2-3, 6-7 of September 2010 at Rangsit University, 7th Floor, Room 701, Rangsit University, Sathorn Campus, Sathorn Thani I, Sathorn Road on (BTS Station- Chongnonsri).
